Abstract: Aesthetic procedures in the orofacial region have become increasingly common, with the primary objective usually being to delay the signs of the aging process. Among the materials used as injectables in the orofacial region with Food and Drug Administration approval is calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA), which acts as a filler and a collagen production biostimulator. The objective of the present study is to report a case of foreign body reaction caused by a collagen-biostimulating material containing calcium hydroxyapatite. A 32-year-old leucoderma female participant presented to the Stomatology clinic at UFJF-GV complaining of a painless nodule in the orofacial region. The nodular lesion reported by the participant could not be observed through visual inspection; it was only detected by palpation during the extraoral or intraoral physical examination, presenting as a firm, painless nodule measuring approximately 1.5 cm in its largest diameter, located intraorally in the lower left labial mucosa region. The lesion was completely excised, and histopathological analysis revealed a foreign body reaction to an orofacial biostimulating material. Six months after the removal of the lesion, there was no recurrence. Considering the increase in aesthetic procedures, particularly injectables in the orofacial region, and given that foreign body reactions due to the presence of aesthetic materials are non-specific, we conclude that dental surgeons must remain attentive to this potential diagnosis
