Até que a arte nos ampare: Um estudo sobre o potencial artístico e turístico do Cemitério Municipal Nossa Senhora Aparecida em Juiz de Fora

Abstract

This graduation final project aims to identify and reinforce the historical and artistic importance of the Municipal Cemetery of Juiz de Fora, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, and to evaluate the potential for developing cemetery tourism in the city. The studies are based on the artistic perception of the works, especially sculptures, a brief historical review of the tradition of tourist visits to funerary environments, and an analysis of the feasibility of implementing this type of tourism in the city, considering cemeteries as important places for preservation of the memory and notable artistic collections already recognized and consolidated in Brazilian historical cities and throughout the world.
