Abstract

This study aims to bring forth how specific thematic or formal parallels between the chosen films allow the outlining of fertile relations of the cinematic art with other visual arts and their surrounding areas. Beyond the identification of such parallels and their heterogeneities, the project seeks - by making use of both the cinematographic and artistic theoretical and critical frameworks - to lay out part of the text that emerges once such connections are formed. The chapters, made of groups of two or three films, are structured around individual and joint analyses of such films, which are spearheaded by a comparative method applied in relation to other reference works in cinema, the visual arts and literature, for example.
