| Resumo: | Este estudo investiga a relação entre a presença da indústria moveleira e o desenvolvimento socioeconômico dos municípios brasileiros. Utilizando a Análise Fatorial Exploratória (AFE), buscou-se identificar padrões estruturais nas cidades com concentração de postos de trabalho nessa atividade econômica. Os resultados indicam que, embora a especialização no setor moveleiro esteja associada a alguns indicadores positivos, sua relação com o desenvolvimento municipal é fraca, sugerindo que outros fatores desempenham um papel mais significativo. O estudo contribui para a literatura sobre desenvolvimento regional, destacando a necessidade de investigações adicionais sobre os impactos específicos do setor. |
| Abstract: | This study investigates the relationship between the presence of the furniture industry and the socioeconomic development of Brazilian municipalities. Using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), we sought to identify structural patterns in cities with a concentration of jobs in this economic activity. The results indicate that, although specialization in the furniture sector is associated with some positive indicators, its relationship with municipal development is weak, suggesting that other factors play a more significant role. This study contributes to the literature on regional development, highlighting the need for further research on the specific impacts of the sector. |
